Nourishing Dancers (athletes)
I was invited to share a little bit about nutrition for dancers at my daughter’s dance studio earlier this year. Now we are kicking off competition season and I thought it would be useful information for all young athletes. Teaching kids to listen to their bodies is vital. So many eating disorders and disordered eating patterns begin with messages from coaches. Children should realize that healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes and that their level of performance has little to do with their genetic blueprint. Young athletes need to foster a healthy relationship with food that will last throughout their lives.
